The UBUNTU PROJECT BUYANA LIMITED was founded in 2008 with a heartfelt mission: to bring hope, dignity, and support to the orphans, vulnerable children, and forgotten elders of Buyana village in Gomba District, Uganda.
The vision began with Herbert Mugerwa, a gospel recording artist whose love for his community led him to use the stage not just for music, but for ministry. Through concerts and shows, Herbert raised funds to provide books, clothes, school supplies, soccer balls, and other essentials for children who had so little, yet carried so much potential.
As time went on, with the generous support of friends and well-wishers, this small act of love grew into something far greater. Today, over 35 children are being sponsored through various schools, given the chance to dream, learn, and build a better future.
But our mission does not end with the young. We also stand alongside the elderly—those often left behind—with basic needs like food, clothing, and shelter. For some, we have even built small homes, offering them not just a roof over their heads, but a renewed sense of dignity and belonging.
We are deeply grateful for how far we’ve come—and we remain committed to doing even more.
At UBUNTU PROJECT BUYANA LIMITED, our goal is to restore hope, dignity, and opportunity to the most vulnerable members of our community—especially orphans, disadvantaged children, and neglected elders in Buyana village and beyond.
While the journey of UBUNTU PROJECT BUYANA LIMITED has been marked by hope and transformation, it has not come without significant challenges. As we continue to serve the vulnerable in Buyana village and beyond, we face several ongoing obstacles that limit the scale and speed of our impact:
We envision a future where no child is denied education due to poverty, and no elder is left to suffer alone. With continued support, we are determined to expand our reach, deepen our impact, and be a light of hope in forgotten places.
